Five Ways to Improve Fuel Economy
There are many ways of going about improving fuel economy. Improving fuel economy is important as it reduces the emission of harmful toxins into the environment. Additionally, improving fuel economy will save you some serious cash.
Public Transportation: Instead of taking your car everywhere, you might consider taking your local bus to work. Not only will you save money on fuel costs, but you might even meet some new, similarly minded, friends. Furthermore, if you don’t have to worry about driving, you may even be able to get some extra work done on the bus. It’s the perfect way to save energy, time and money.
Walk or Ride: If your destination isn’t too far, you may choose to walk to ride your bicycle. These activities are a great way to get your daily exercise in, while simultaneously getting to where you need to go! In addition, it will cut your miles per gallon down to zero!
Empty Your Car: At some point, most of us have had our cars filled with useless junk. The next time you have a few minutes, try removing that old hockey equipment from your backseat. It unnecessarily weighs your car down, which in turn, requires more energy for your car to run. If you don’t need it, don’t take it with you!
Carpool: If you live near a group of co-workers, consider making a weekly schedule where one person is designated to drive the entire group. If you are all going to the same place, there is little sense in everybody driving separately. You can use a fraction of the energy by carpooling, and it may even help you to get to work on time if you’re constantly late! After all, the buddy system is one of the best methods at improving efficiency and timing.
Economize: If you’re considering purchasing a new vehicle, then be sure to choose a car which is fuel efficient. You can reduce total cost of ownership by avoiding the purchase of larger cars, such as SUVs. You may also consider the purchase of a hybrid car, which are great on improving your overall miles per gallon.
